ABOUT
I began taking pictures as a hobby in 1984, when I bought my first Nikon. What started as a way to capture family vacations quickly became a passion. I immersed myself in every photography book, magazine, and show I could find, studying the work of photographers I admired and teaching myself the craft by trying to understand what made their images work.
During my 35-year career in Information Technology, my camera traveled with me on countless business trips. Whenever I had the opportunity, I’d step away from the office and explore with my camera, discovering new places and photographing them from my own perspective.
Today, I’m based in St. Augustine, Florida, but my photography takes me wherever the light and the landscape lead. I’m drawn to wildlife—especially eagles, osprey, and owls—as well as landscapes, dramatic skies, nighttime scenes, and the Milky Way. I also enjoy travel and aviation photography. I love the challenge of being in the right place when everything comes together.
I often build a trip around those fleeting moments of great light, and I’m willing to wait—or come back another day—for the image I have in mind. For me, photography has never been about simply taking a picture. It’s about seeing something worth capturing and creating an image that makes someone else want to stop and look.
After more than 40 years behind a camera, I’m still learning, still exploring, and still looking for that next photograph.
